Central administration affected by e-mail outage

E-mail system intermittently up and down Tuesday at the University of Copenhagen, after system is moved to new operations centre at Panum (updated)

Staff and students at the University of Copenhagen have no, or limited, unstable, access to their e-mails Tuesday morning. This is confirmed by the IT call centre.

The e-mail system was planned moved to a new operations centre at Panum. Staff and students with the following e-mail address endings were warned up to the long bank-holiday weekend:
@adm.ku.dk; @absalon.ku.dk; @bestyrelsesakademiet.dk; @biopeople.ku.dk; @culis.ku.dk; @emed.ku.dk; @katapult.ku.dk; @kubulus.dk; @science.ku.dk; @studier.ku.dk; @studievalg.dk

However, according to head of IT service Ole Jochumsen »only e-mail adresses, that include adm in the address field are down. We have put all our people on the job to solve the problem, but we have no idea yet,« he says to the Danish-language section Universitetsavisen.

‘Not related to move’

The move was planned finished Monday 13 June, a bank holiday. But this morning Tuesday the University of Copenhagen has been plagued by outages, with limited access now. As we write 11.48, the e-mail system is working.

All staff in the joint administration as well as the Faculty secretariat of Science have e-mail-adresses with ‘adm’.

According to Ole Jochumsen the outage is not related to the move to Panum, as everything seemed to be working Monday.
